- I know not to expect much help from my small local phone company as my
- phones are working fine for voice calls; but since the heavy rain last
- week my carrier speed is down from 21.6 to 12.0. I've got 2 lines
- coming into the house and use 2 different pc's and 2 different modems
- on each line. The speed reduction is the same on all possible
- combinations, so I feel sure it's the phone line. Heck, I've even got
- shielded cat-5 twisted pair run to one of my modems. The speed
- reduction is also regardless of where I'm calling.

- If anybody has successfully convinced a local phone company to fix a
- problem such as this (when they really aren't obligated to do any
- better than voice) I'd love to hear about it. I'm dying with the
- speed reduction and ISDN is not available. I'd probably have to pay
- to have another cable buried to my house but that might be what it
- takes. Thanks!
