  11. I know not to expect much help from my small local phone company as my
  12. phones are working fine for voice calls; but since the heavy rain last
  13. week my carrier speed is down from 21.6 to 12.0.   I've got 2 lines
  14. coming into the house and use 2 different pc's and 2 different modems
  15. on each line.  The speed reduction is the same on all possible
  16. combinations, so I feel sure it's the phone line.  Heck, I've even got
  17. shielded cat-5 twisted pair run to one of my modems.  The speed
  18. reduction is also regardless of where I'm calling.

  20. If anybody has successfully convinced a local phone company to fix a
  21. problem such as this (when they really aren't obligated to do any
  22. better than voice) I'd love to hear about it.  I'm dying with the
  23. speed reduction and ISDN is not available.  I'd probably have to pay
  24. to have another cable buried to my house but that might be what it
  25. takes.  Thanks!
